Although general advice is provided below, we always recommend speaking with a member of staff on the delayed train or at the connecting station for specific advice tailored to your situation.
Connecting to the same carrier
If your connecting train is with the same carrier as the delayed train, you will be able to travel to your destination on the next available train. Speak with the train staff to see if you can board the next train with your current ticket, as you may need to exchange it for a new one for free.
Connecting to a different carrier
If you are traveling by high-speed train between two different carriers, you may be eligible for the HOTNAT guarantee ("Hop On The Next Available Train"). Although an available seat is not guaranteed.
